The purpose of Nigerian Women in Mathematics is to create a community in which women and girls can thrive in their mathematical endeavors and to promote equitable opportunity and gender-inclusivity across the mathematical sciences.
Vision
To optimize the interest of Nigerian women and young girls in studying mathematics; developing research capability of Nigerian Women in Mathematics; helping Nigerian Women in Mathematics effective teachers and lecturers of Mathematics.
NWM was created on 8th July 2014, after the participation of 146 Nigerian women mathematicians and 3 paper presentation at the inaugural meeting held at the department of Mathematics, University of Ibadan.
May 12th is a joyful opportunity for the mathematical community to celebrate women in mathematics. The celebration takes place every year, all around the world.
